Title: Princess in Love
Author: Meg Cabot
Series: The Princess Diaries
Previous Books in the Series:
1. The Princess Diaries
2. Princess in the Spotlight
Date Read: June 19
Format: Paperback from my own shelf
So unlike Princess in the Spotlight, Princess in Love does not pick up a day after the last book left off. No, this time it’s about a month later. Mia is celebrating Thanksgiving and is getting ready to go to Genovia for Christmas. But first she has to get through finals. Oh, and the fact that her life is completely over. The reason she believes her life is over is because she has a boyfriend now. Kenny and her have been dating since Halloween, but things aren’t perfect in paradise. She doesn’t like Kenny. She doesn’t like kissing him. She likes someone else. But she doesn’t know how to break it off with Kenny without crushing his heart (and failing Bio). It only gets worse when he announces that he loves her. If he loves her, then why hasn’t he asked her to the dance?
Out of the three so far, this book was my favorite. Not only because Mia finally stands up for herself and hosts a press conference. But also because of how cute her trying to tell Michael her feelings for him is. The notes are ridiculously cute and I honestly thought that Michael had figured it out when Mia started getting yellow roses. Funny how Cabot never mentioned anything about a Secret Snowflake thing. Then again, Mia didn’t remember either. However, the way that Michael does tell Mia his feelings for her was adorable and the confrontation at the dance was sweet too. I love the fact that Michael ran from his apartment back to the school when he found out that Mia had changed her mind about the dance. Now, that’s some dedication!
Final Review: 4 out of 5 stars. My only complaint about this book (and with most of the books in this series really) is the fact that they are so short. I read three books in two days. How crazy is that?
Bookshelf worthy? Grandmére hasn’t come to steal them yet, so…
